Catamarans and Trimarans are also called “mulithulls” They are primarily powered by sails but can also be powered by motor alone. Their broad platform between two or three hulls give them stability.
Unlike a monohull, the catamarans do not have ballast. This absence of ballast also results in some very real performance gains in terms of acceleration, top speed, and maneuverability.
